Raised in a strict Christian household, divorce was not something I knew even to be an option. When I was a teenager, my parents had been married for twenty years when they decided to divorce. It was not easy on them, but the conflict was unbearable for myself and my younger sister. I watched my parents get legal advice, both good and bad, from local attorneys. Some of these professionals I practiced with when I first worked as an attorney.
As an adult, I have too experienced divorce. I understand the pain and confusion divorce seekers are going through.
I understand first-hand that divorce can cause damage felt even decades later, if not handled correctly. The divorce of a marriage usually does not end the relationship; instead it evolves into a new relationship with new issues.
